We have added several new venders who brought in handbags, Avon, vintage and antique items, fun gifts and practical items, gift baskets, handmade soy candles, home decor including wall masks even a Phantom Of The Opera mask and some from New Orleans too !
We also have a booth that is full of hand crocheted baby items and also hats, slippers, and other items for grown-ups as well.
Our hours are Wednesdays and Sundays from noon to 5 and Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays from 10 to 5
I do sometimes open on Mondays and Tuesdays if I have some work to do at the store and I also open early and/or stay open late depending upon my day so if you see that we are open early or late, feel free to stop if you have the need to shop.
Please help us to get the word out about our little gift shop at 6177 Youngstown-Hubbard Road.

We now have a vendor who brought in a bunch of electronic gadgets for you iPod, phone, TV, and for your computer...
She also has some non-electronic home/office items.

We have a couple of vendor booth openings in Hubbard Ohio at our store at 6177 Youngstown-Hubbard Road in Hubbard, Ohio starting this week !
So, if you or someone you know wants to start a booth or expand a business into the Hubbard, Ohio area - let me know and we can set up an appointment.
* We will only take one vendor of each type of items - a little overlap is fine, but I want to be fair to all vendors.

Hi everybody !
I hope you are staying cool this week.
This heat is terrible !
Well,
I've been making more sachets, eye mask pillows and neck pillows and will be making more of my body balms and solid perfumed creams along with other things that are about sold out ASAP.
I have been trying to restock my store because after the NYT article came out on June 10th I am selling out of many things and now I have a waiting list for the perfumed creams, but you know how it goes - something always gets in the way and I have to do things for everyone else or it is just too hot to work.
But, I will be back on track soon I hope.
I have been listing crochet and knitting booklets in my online store and will be listing older sewing patterns on my ebay page (I go by diana3herbs on ebay) starting today and then later in my online store below as well.
I think I will be starting a bigger booth where my Mom is set up with her vintage jewelry and gifts... because the vendor who had half of the...

Thanks to the wonderful New York Times article last Thursday - see my last blog post - I have had so much interest in my all natural and handmade products.

For the local folks in and around Hubbard, Ohio:
I have a display set up at Fabulous Interiors on the Square in Hubbard Ohio and a small display set up at Petzie's Gift Shop at 6177 Youngstown-Hubbard Road in Hubbard.
As far as I know, both of these places are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays and open Wednesdays-Sundays from 10-4:00 or so.
If you go to either, please tell them I sent you.
I do not "sell" from the house/shop, but I sometimes allow appointments to visit and if you happen to see something you like, well...
Right now though everything is a mess because I was right in the middle of drying a bunch of of my herbs and flowers (which are spread out all over) and was/am infusing several batches of my scented oils for the perfumes and soaps...
So, I am not taking visitors for a while until I start to get caught up a little ;)

I was interviewed by The New York Times about how I make my all natural perfumes and other products like my body balms and hand-sewn items... from my organic garden.

I've had almost no sleep since Thursday.
Most everything well well, folks had a good time :)
Somebody in my house was grumpy that night while we were trying to clean up the firehall and today, but he usually is so I guess I expected it :(
I am sick of hearing how tired he is when he sleeps a LOT more than I do - Grrrrrr

The 50th Anniversary party is today !

Packing things up and sending hubby and son to the firehall, son will stay there and hubby is coming back to get more stuff and pick up my oldest daughter. She will start setting up the kitchen so I can start cooking when I get there.
Third trip and I go out there - hubby has to make another trip home to pick up the last of the party stuff.
Later, he has to pick up our friend who made the cake and bring both to the party.
I hope my parents and the guests will enjoy themselves :)

Spring is a busy time of the year

I spent all day Saturday cleaning the counters, the kitchen, the bathroom... and my oldest helped out by sweeping and dusting the display areas and the living room.
I'm trying to get ready to restock my soaps, lip balms, perfumes, body balms...
I do have several of my hand-sewn items done as I worked on them while I was relaxing in the evenings and during the slow times when I was helping out at the family store this past Winter, but I have been way too busy doing everything else to be able to sit down and measure/photograph/list these though.
I do have some soaps already done from this past Autumn. They still need weighed, labeled and photographed so I can list them. I'll try to get to it soon, but they will probably have to wait until after my parents' party in May.
I will be collecting the Spring flowers soon to dry them and make my scented oils for perfumes and balms.
I'm trying to get this all done in between planning my parents' 50th party - so much to do and it's pretty much just me doing it.

Remember when I told you all about the local Hubbard Ohio store owner who found me online a few months ago and asked me to bring in some of my things to possibly include them in her store on consignment ?
That local store was Fabulous Interiors in Hubbard, Ohio and she loved ALL of it and kept it all to display in her store.
I was so happy about that !
And now...

Well, she doesn't want to do consignment now so it looks like I will be selling my extras online.

Do you know anyone who needs dog collars, dog leashes, dog harnesses, training collar links, dog outfits for small dogs, tiny kitten harnesses... ?
This stuff is very nice. It is all new, but because it was hanging in a store, some of it got a little dusty and some of the packages have sun fade. So, I will be selling it all at a discount.

Pet Stuff for sale in Hubbard Ohio and beyond ;)

I just in got a whole big box that is full of dog stuff because I couldn't pass it up for the price 
I needed some new harnesses, leashes, and new toys... for my 2 Beagles and went searching the web. I found someone who was closing their pet store and I got this whole box of dog harnesses, dog collars, dog leashes, dog toys, dog outfits and dog coats for small dogs, and other dog stuff !
There was some cat collars and cat leashes too.
I am going to see if my cousin's girlfriend who runs the new store at 6177 Youngstown-Hubbard Road in Hubbard, Ohio called "Petzie's - Pet Stuff - Gift Shop - Books and So Much More" wants to put my extras in her store on consignment.
If not, I will start my own little online store for them.
I am also sewing a few cat toys by hand. I am using some fake fur that I have and I will stuff them with real catnip.
Don't forget, I also make a nice pet soap. I am just about out of it right now, but will be making more soon.

Fabulous Interiors store in Hubbard, Ohio

At her request, I took several of my handmade items to Fabulous Interiors store in Hubbard, Ohio and she will display all of them in her store and sell them on consignment for me !
What a beautiful store she has !
If you are near to Hubbard, you really must stop by to see the pretty designs and the wonderful furniture... .
She does the painting and design (She also will help you with your design for a small fee) while her husband does the upholstering.
She and her husband are very much into recycling as I am so we really hit it off.
I am so proud to have some of my things in her store !

How are YOU trying to be more Green ?

Trying to be Green can be so tough !
Just finding the materials to make my handmade items - that are both organic AND as local as possible to avoid using so much transportation and fossil fuels... is impossible for some things.
I use my homegrown (in my organic gardens) herbs and flowers and buy organic fabrics whenever possible for my items.
Finding local organic fabric is tough, so I use quite a bit of vintage fabrics to make my hand-sewn items - at least it is keeping it out of a landfill and I am not buying any new non-organic fabrics.
I also use vintage buttons, trims, lace...
To me, using vintage fabrics and notions is not only being Green, but it also gives handmade items an extra special something too.
Handmade AND Vintage = Beautiful, Useful, and Green too !

Hometown success for Diana's All Natural and hand sewn products

Diana's Hand-Sewn and All Natural Products are getting even more popular and are getting more notice locally too !
Diana's Hand-Sewn and All Natural Products are getting even more local recognition.
Another local Hubbard, Ohio store has asked me to bring in a display of my All Natural handmade products and some of my hand sewn items to sell them in her downtown store right in the center of town.
This lady has a store in town with furniture and other things - she also does interior design...
She found my website and emailed me last week about putting some of my things in her store !
I emailed her back and will go to meet with her next week or so to talk about it.
I hope she knows that it is JUST me and not a whole crew that makes my things and that my hand-sewn items take time and are one-of-a-kind.
I am putting together a nice display of a little bit of everything so she can see them up close and then we will talk percentages and we will go from there.
This is so exciting !

Stevenson's Inn and Restaurant in Masury Ohio

We stopped at http://StevensonRestaurant.com in Masury, Ohio on Friday for lunch and it was SO GOOD !
We had the fried fish sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich.
I had their slightly spicy homemade clam chowder - a little unusual, but so tasty !
I highly recommend this place for lunch and we will be going back - often 
Stevenson's Inn and Restaurant in Masury Ohio
- a local restaurant in Northeast Ohio for good food at a good price with good service too !
